How best to improve soil for your new plantings
- We humans are always afraid of fungi and bacteria. Unjustified! Soil contains many fungi and bacteria that are actually good for plants. They allow plants to absorb nutrients better and therefore grow better.
- Are you creating a new piece of garden, want to move a plant or plant a new plant in the border? Often soil conditions are not optimal for the plant to grow well. Consider, for example, new construction soils that are completely disturbed and compacted. In that case, use a soil conditioner.
- There are many soil conditioners on the market, all working on the same principle. The fungi and bacteria in the remedy make soil life more activated. This allows plants to grow better.
- There are granular products, as well as potting soil products that contain everything and that you can simply handle by hand. Spread the granules evenly over the border and mix them into the soil. Also mix some through the planting holes. You will see that the planting will benefit!
Did you know that...?
...research has been done in desert areas on the sense or nonsense of soil conditioners? Henri Jansen tells about it in this video more about it!
