How to prune a Hedera ivy:
- You can prune a Hedera, or ivy, in two ways: manually with pruning shears, or with hedge trimmers (electric or otherwise).
- With the hedge trimmer, go along the entire bush to contain it.
- With the pruning shears, remove branches from inside the shrub or hedge.
- Pruning with pruning shears creates a beautiful, natural look and rejuvenates the ivy from within. Cleaning up the trimmings is also faster.

Hedera is a very good plant if you want to attract bees and other insects to your garden? If you prune it only in spring and not too drastically, it can bloom beautifully in September-October.
